Recently Alstom needed to expedite the manufacture and delivery of an LED module needed for an Integrated Lightweight Signal on the Leeds Capacity Project against the standard 8 week leadtime.
The module is for a Standard Alphanumeric Route Indicator, which gives the driver instructions on the route set for the train movement and needed to show either a letter A or letter B. The project team were very keen to get the module installed as they had been forced to put an expensive mitigation measure in place.
Despite some of the team working from home, and social distancing measures in place at the Unipart Dorman Southport Facility, the module was designed, components purchased and the unit built inside ten days.
David Maddison who is the Regional Delivery Director (North and Scotland) for Alstom said: "We would just would like to say many thanks from Alstom regarding your efforts in addressing the issue associated with the AB indicator on the Leeds project, your organisation's efforts in finding a resolution are greatly appreciated and bodes well for our future on-going relationships, please pass on our thanks to all within your team that has made this happen, again thanks"
