Another Successful Installation of HD ALT

The latest installation of the new Unipart Dorman Heavy Duty Assisted Lift Trunnion (HD ALT) took place recently at Selby where a life expired steel Cantilever was replaced with two standalone lightweight signals.

Using Unipart Dorman Integrated Lightweight Signals (ILS) has delivered significant initial cost savings by removing the need to design and fabricate a complex new steel structure and will continue to deliver through life savings by completely eliminating the need for planned maintenance visits.

The quick and easy installation of the ILS head and post in the HD ALT using simple hand tools and plug couplers allowed the new signals to be brought into use before the steelwork was removed allowing complete flexibility in planning the task.

The LNE Route Asset Manager (who kindly supplied the image used in this article) recognised the benefits of the standard ALT and was pivotal in the design, development and product acceptance of the HD ALT and gave the Unipart Dorman team crucial insights into the customer need and how best to meet it.

The Unipart Dorman Technical Team will be hosting a webinar in the forthcoming weeks.  Could you benefit from knowing more about HD ALT and how deploying it could reduce costs whilst making the railway safer?

Why not sign up for the webinar and learn about how Unipart Dorman developed this world beating solution.
