Unipart Dorman Invests in Advanced Optical Design Techniques

Focussing on continual improvement is critical to ensuring the products designed, engineered and manufactured at Unipart Dorman continue to be at the forefront of technology and exceed the high performance expectations of our customers.

To support this development process the team is always looking at innovative ways to support their rigorous development processes, and after researching a number of software solutions designed to support Optical Design development, the team selected TracePro.

TracePro is a specific piece of software which supports the design and analysis of illumination and optical systems.  The investment in TracePro will enable the Optical Design team to significantly reduce the development and testing time required for their stage of the overall product development process.

This new technology has recently been used to support the development of the new iLS modules which are already delivering improved design benefits across the UK rail infrastructure network.  Lightweight Signalling solutions from Unipart Dorman are continuing to deliver zero maintenance solutions without the need to work at height when installed with one of our Assisted Lift Trunnions.
