On Wednesday 18th December, Unipart Rail held a special Christmas Concert for isolated neighbours in the local community. We joined forces with Be:Friend, a wonderful charity which matches volunteer befrienders with isolated elderly neighbours in the community to combat and end loneliness.
Working together with Be:Friend, we welcomed over 20 VIP guests to our Christmas Concert held at our Jupiter Site in Doncaster. Rolling out the red carpet for our special guests, we greeted our neighbours with refreshments wearing our favourite Christmas jumpers and with a great big smile on our faces to spread the Christmas cheer. Our superb brass band stole the show blasting out traditional and modern Christmas carols which were loved by all. Heart-warming to see, over 25 of our colleagues took time out of their day to befriend our neighbours and join in with the Christmas festivities. Everyone involved took part in competitions including who could sing the loudest and who had the best ‘jazz hands’ pardon the pun! In addition to the singing, dancing and jazz hands, all participants indulged in a delicious buffet to top the day off with a bang.
