Railway Interchange is a huge exhibition - so you should make sure that Unipart Rail is on your 'must' list to visit. There are good reasons for this…
For years we have been delivering technical rail expertise using our Supply Chain and Product skills. Skills that mean that every innovative product we bring to market optimizes cost, reduces risk and increases performance. With our recent acquisition of Pennsylvania based Westcode Inc. and Unipart Dorman’s successful Wayside signal journey in North America, we are now engaged with the American Railroad industry and are introducing our wider range of innovative solutions that help our customers save money, perform better and reduce risk.
Some of our products on display will include:
Track Circuit Assistor (TCA) – Innovation in safety
Track circuits affected by rust is not normally a problem for heavy freight trains, but lighter passenger trains and DMUs do not have enough weight to break through the rust layer, and in certain cases this can lead to a train not being detected by the signalling system. Having a TCA fitted not only improves safety and reliability of train detection but also reduces the likelihood of costs associated with delays caused by non-shunting of circuits and is simple to install.
TCA is having increased interest as a solution to track circuit shunting problems from passenger rail operators in the USA.

Wayside Signals - Innovation in Life Cycle Cost & Safety
Unipart Dorman pioneered LED wayside signal technology and has built a 95% market share of the LED signal market in the UK.
We have taken LED signal performance, safety and reliability to an unprecedented level, delivering huge operational savings.
Certified Zero Maintenance LED Signals
20 year life versus current 7 year change out recommendations
Flawless operation at Union Station, Toronto since 2010
Class 1 Railroad approval
Additionally, Unipart Dorman’s Integrated Lightweight Signals with Assisted Lift Trunnion (ALT) reduce installation times and eliminate the dangers of working at height. The ALT will be on demonstration on our partner’s adjacent booth 4219 – Modern Railway Systems.
