It's certainly not a 'natural' leap for Unipart Rail to be undertaking the fulfillment of on-line ordering for RSPB - what do birds have to do with the railway?
Well, it's our logistical expertise that's at work here, rather than railway knowledge. When we took over our Weeden warehouse from Unipart Logistics, it was natural for the team there to continue managing the RSPB business - a relationship that has been in place for over 10 years. And we've done so well at it that RSPB has just extended the contract by an additional 2 years.
We deliver everything for the RSPB - from bulk seed to jars of jam and Robin Hood outfits! The numbers are quite big too - up to 80 tonnes of bird seed per week at peak times, and 200,000 web orders per year.
We look forward to continuing to work for the RSPB for many years to come.
