When you think of steam locomotives, you think of the triumph of Victorian engineering - but even these magnificent old machines need protection to modern standards. Which is why we've fitted the North Norfolk Railway's steam locomotive with AWS and TPWSfour to protect it (and it's passengers) whilst it's in action.
The first day of the event included a potted history of the line, together with the on-board lunch being served on the return trip to Holt, followed by their technical meeting. Day two included a full demonstration of OSS (Overspeed) and SPADs (Signal Passed at Danger), using the Unipart Rails Hand Held signal generator on the latest version of Unipart Rail TPWSfour.
The day was a thrilling experience for the delegates - it's not every day that you get to ride the footplate of a steam train!
