Traction and Rolling Stock
The Traction and Rolling Stock part of the company, with 400 employees based in two locations in Doncaster, decided to make a concerted effort to raise a significant amount of money for local causes but the response has surpassed their wildest dreams.
Shaun Taylor, co-ordinator of the internal Charity Committee, said that “We wanted to make a difference to our local community by having a number of events to raise money for good causes. Some of our staff have always been involved in charitable work but the last 12 months has been brilliant in getting more and more people to contribute their time and money for our charitable causes.”
The range of organisations that have benefitted from Unipart Rail’s donations include Mind, Air Ambulance, Little Rainbows and the Alzheimer’s Society.
Recently £1,700 was donated to the Amethyst Care Home in Doncaster which they will use for hiring coaches to arrange trips for residents over the next few months. Sue Seale, Home Manager from Amethyst House was very grateful for the support of a local business to help the residents enjoy life a bit more.
