Unipart Rail Doncaster is celebrating its 20 year anniversary after the company was formed out of the privatisation of British Rail in 1997. The company now employs over 400 people in the Doncaster area and continues to be part of the growth of the local economy by taking on over 50 new staff since the start of 2017 and being a founder member of the Doncaster Ambassador Programme.

The company held a garden party for all Doncaster based staff and their families at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park to mark the Anniversary as part of its’ Employee Engagement activities.

Unipart Rail is investing in the next generation of talent and is heavily involved with local TeenTech and STEM projects to increase the awareness of engineering as a career path and regularly provides work experience for school pupils.

George Tillier MD Products, commented “We are pleased to reach our 20 year anniversary and have ambitious plans to develop the company well into the 21st Century and beyond. We have a strong base in the Doncaster area and work hard to support and develop the potential of our staff. Recently we were awarded the Investor in People Award for Health and Wellbeing and also gained a Silver Award from Investors in People in recognition of the company philosophy and culture we have in the way we attract, develop and manage our people.

In addition, staff at Unipart Rail are encouraged to get involved in charity fundraising activities; over £25,000 has been raised in the past 3 years for local charities including the Lindsey Lodge Hospice, The Whitechapel Centre and Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation.

Unipart Rail continues to recruit talent into the organisation and we are keen to speak to people from Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Sales & Customer Service and Business Development backgrounds  and also the company are actively seeking graduates for the rotation training scheme.
