£2015 raised for Cyclists Fighting Cancer

During the first half of 2015, Dave Jones our Production Engineering and Product Assurance Manager took up a fundraising challenge.

Dave identified Cyclists Fighting Cancer as a charity he’d like to support and created a plan of a number of activities that could be arranged to raise funds for this worthy cause.

Cyclists Fighting Cancer enables children and young people living with cancer across the UK to regain their physical fitness, strength and confidence by giving then new bikes, adapted trikes, tandems and other equipment and support.

To find out more about the charity visit www.cyclistsfc.org.uk

With a number of generous donations from businesses, Dave has been able to instigate a range of fund raising activities including a Easter Egg raffle from the famous Slattery Chocolatier, a blind auction, a bike themed raffle and the ultimate challenge Crewe to Southport bike ride.

14 participants cycled over 700 miles to raise funds for the charity. Other people contributed by providing support vehicles for the team.

£2015 has been raised for the charity through personal donations and via the justgiving webpage www.justgiving.com/unipart-dorman-wheelers

Thanks are given to everyone involved and the businesses who provided prizes for the fundraising events.
