On Saturday 9th May, the “Dorman Wheelers” cycling team set off from Crewe at 9am. After a 100km journey (a little bit more for one of the sub-teams who took a couple of diversions!), all 14 riders cycled safely into Southport arriving about 4pm for a well earned refreshment at the Thatch and Thistle pub.
The team started in the rain and wind, but by the time they had arrived in Southport it was a glorious sunny afternoon. Apart from a couple of punctures and some of the team’s lunch being locked in the support vehicle, the day went without a hitch.
The grand total of fundraising for the Cyclists Fighting Cancer charity currently stands at £1,200! Thank you to everyone who has sponsored or donated money to the team.
