The annual Trinty Mirror Cheshire Business Awards celebrate the achievements and successes of companies of all sizes based within the Cheshire region. The awards honour those individuals and teams who have created new businesses or expanded existing lines, entrepreneurs whose ideas and imagination not only produce tremendous business results but also jobs and wealth for our communities.
We are delighted to announce that Unipart Rail won the Inspiring Apprenticeships Cheshire & Warrington Award.
Unipart Rail has employed over 50 apprentices since the scheme started in 2000. Through aptitude testing and interviews, we are able to select the best available candidates and then give them the best training and experience, in conjunction with Total People and South Cheshire College. Many go on to become our future managers as part of our succession planning programmes, whilst other become our expert technicians and apprentice mentors to meet the current and future opportunities as well as supporting future apprentices.
The award was presented to Les Hobson, Manufacturing Director and members of the team from Unipart Rail Crewe and York, support by Nigel Hartley of Total People.
