Wednesday 7th February saw the monthly meeting of the Network Rail technology sub group of the Signalling Asset Technical Review Group, take place at the offices of Park Signalling Ltd in Stockport.
Their monthly review meeting was followed by an extensive tour of the site facilities, where both product and system demonstrations were undertaken to the attendees.
Ian Allison, Business Development Director for Park Signalling Ltd said "it is always a pleasure to welcome Network Rail to our site in Stockport, to discuss our current and future products and services available to the industry. A particular area of discussion during the visit was about obsolescence management and the potential solutions, which is a particular strength and an experience that Park Signalling Ltd have had many years of dealing with."
Obsolescence in the railway industry usually presents itself as products or components that are no longer available from the original equipment manufacturer. Park Signalling have the ability to reverse engineer and replace obsolete products and components with current operational equivalents to the required Safety Integrity Level (SIL).
