It's an economic benefit to reduce energy usage, but it's also environmentally sound. We've been working hard to reduce our energy usage and now the results are in, we're delighted to announce that 2016 was one of our best years for improvements!

Southport

Electricity - 1.8% reduction compared with 2015

Gas - 9% reduction compared with 2015

Water - 45% reduction compared with 2015

Crewe & York

Electricity - 8.5% reduction compared with 2015

Gas - 0.9% reduction compared to 2014

Water - 9.5% reduction compared with 2015

General Waste - 54% reduction compared with 2015

Wood - 57% more wood recycled compared to 2015

Doncaster

General Waste - 20% reduction compared with 2015

Recycled waste - 8% increase compared with 2015

Since March 2015, all general waste at our sites is not placed in landfill. All general waste is used for energy recovery.

Where we have had increases in energy usage, we are working hard to identify ways that we can continue to reduce our environmental impacts in 2017.

  • Employee Engagement - Improved light levels and a better quality of light
  • Energy Saving - Carbon reduction
  • Cost Saving
  • Reduced Maintenance Costs
  • Health &Safety benefits - no glass / reduced fire risk less heat
