The Township of King in Ontario were experiencing reliability and vandalism issues with their tube based counters. As a result of this, they were looking for a radar based solution that would be safer, more efficient and could be utilized year round for counting traffic and assessing speeding concerns.

The Township ordered two Unipart Dorman Armadillo Tracker units, complemented by a DF11 radar feedback sign. David Vanveen, Project manager with the Engineering and Public Works department has been delighted with the results so far.

David commented, "I wish to advise that the Township of King purchased two Armadillo units unsolicited, based on research that we undertook to replace our existing tube counters that were becoming very problematic (safety issues deploying the tubes, vandalism, error with data retrieval etc)."

"I am pleased to say that we are very happy with the Armadillo units. They are very easy to deploy, provide excellent information, have long battery life and are very inconspicuous to the driving public, so you get real results regarding driving habits."
