The Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE), Midlands and North Western Section, recently enjoyed their annual luncheon at the Severn Valley Railway.

Prior to the departure from Kidderminster Town station on Saturday 16th June, long standing Section Secretary (and Park Signalling Director) Bill Redfern, was presented with the Chairman’s Trophy, an annual award recognising dedication, support and continued commitment to the Section, Institution and the railway industry itself.

Section Chairman Ian Allison (and Park Signalling Director) said that it was a privilege to present the award to a fellow work colleague, IRSE member and friend. When the decision was made as to whom the trophy would be awarded to in 2018 by the previous Section Chairman and the committee, Bill was the clear winner in recognition and appreciation of his many years of commitment in the role of the Section Secretary, whilst attending and supporting every meeting throughout the year.

Park Signalling and Unipart Rail congratulate Bill on his award and his dedication to the IRSE and the railway industry.
