We often hear about people going the extra mile for charity, but in the case of Will Cookson who is the Traffic Sector Commercial Account Manager at Unipart Dorman, it should be ‘goes the extra 26’ as Will is in training for the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon to be held on 23 April 2017.
Every year Unipart Dorman nominates charities to benefit from money raised by the company’s Employee Engagement programme through various activities such as dress down days, charity bike rides and cake sales etc.
In 2017, money raised will go to Queenscourt Hospice in Southport, a wonderful facility which has supported many local people and some Unipart Dorman staff with seriously ill loved ones both at the hospice and crucially for a lot of patients, in their own homes.
Will is committed to doing not only the London event to raise funds for this vital local service, but will also be running the Silverstone half marathon as practice. Adding some additional pressure to an already daunting task, Will is embarking on a holiday to Florida with his partner Laura and a bunch of University friends; where he will not only have to resist the call of theme park hamburgers and beer, but continue his training programme in the heat and humidity that is prevalent in that part of the world.

Where you can also nominate a tune to be added to the playlist he is building to get him around the course.
