In January, Unipart Rail and Thales GTS signed a contract for the provision of logistic services in support of the LUL 4LM Project.

Thales Transportation is the main contractor for this major project, the next phase of LUL’s modernisation programme which will bring faster, more frequent and more reliable journeys to millions of passengers who use the Circle, District, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City lines.

Unipart Rail will provide a full logistics service, operating out of the Unipart site at Weedon including warehousing, inventory management, kitting, consumables, IT Systems through 'Remote Warehouse', returns and repairs management and a forward store operated out of the LUL depot at Neasden. Also, Unipart Rail is storing a huge range of cable, cutting to precise lengths and supplying to the project ready to install.

The service has now begun, with materials coming into the Weedon logistics centre, and being despatched to the forward store, on demand.
