Park Signalling’s Business Development Director, Ian Allison, has been appointed as the next Chairman of the Midland & North Western Section, for the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE) for the 2018 to 2019 session.

Ian has had a successful career in railway signalling and telecommunications engineering for over 30 years around the UK and overseas, he has previously undertaken this role at the Section for the 2004 to 2005 session.  Ian is also well known for his involvement in the setting up of the Minor Railways Section of the Institution and he was the managing editor of IRSE NEWS, the Institution’s international in-house magazine for some thirteen and a half years until 2017.

For the next session Ian will focus on engaging more junior engineers, managers and technicians to become actively involved in both Section and Institution activities within the UK, and actively encourage them to effectively communicate, promote and share their knowledge and best practice examples.

The IRSE is the world-wide professional institution for all those engaged in or associated with railway signalling and telecommunications, train control, traffic management and allied professions.
