Unipart Rail’s Traction and Rolling Stock Division has been re-certified to the highly regarded BS 11000 Standard for Collaborative Working. The Standard is the benchmark in the rail industry as to how forward thinking businesses should work with customers and suppliers to improve performance and reduce inefficiencies.
Unipart Rail was one of the first to obtain BS 11000 in the rail sector 3 years ago and the re-certification is confirmation of the company’s continued commitment to collaborative business relationships.
The business received very positive feedback from the auditors, BSi, on the progress that has been made over the three year period since achieving the Standard in 2013. Of particular note is the tangible value being added for customers’ business who take advantage of the benefits that working with a Collaborative Business Relationship Standard provides.
“We are immensely proud to have secured the standard for a further three year period” commented George Tillier, Managing Director at Unipart Rail T&RS.
“This is the first time we have completed the full audit scope since securing our BS11000 status, so to achieve it a second time and with such positive feedback about our progress from the auditors is a testament to efforts of the whole team that are involved in the daily implementation of the Standard’s requirements.”
BS11000 provides a framework for collaborative working, to help companies develop and manage their interactions with other organisations for maximum benefit to all. Using an eight stage approach, the framework is designed to enable businesses to apply best practice principles to their own ways of working, to get best value from their business relationships.
Collaborative working is now and integral part of the Unipart Rail way of working and is fully embedded into its culture and ethos. The approach creates benefits for Unipart Rail’s customers and suppliers by enabling the delivery of performance improvements, stimulating innovation and providing cost efficiencies through the achievement of mutually agreed objectives.
Unipart Rail is actively engaging with other customers who are keen to embrace the BS 11000 Standard and to gain the added value that it will bring to their organisations.
