We’re all encouraged to ‘think outside the box’ – the feeling that if only we could put things together differently then we’d have a fantastic new solution. Many of these – like modern art – evoke a response “I could have done that” because of the simplicity of the solution, but it does need someone to make that leap.
We do that at Unipart Rail. Create simple solutions that overcome problems and help our customers to be faster, better, cheaper or more resourceful than they were before. If you can think it – we can do it.
Two examples of this are Flexi Kitting and Overhead Line Fabrication Centre.
Flexi Kitting was developed with Eurostar. All the materials for a specific task delivered in special containers with the products ordered and colour coded so that each stage has everything needed in one package. Overhead Line Fabrication Centre. When the Staffordshire Alliance realised they had only limited space for marshalling and storing, We stepped in to assemble Ovehead Line cantilevers at our Crewe site, and delivered them ‘just in time’ to the track-side ready for immediate installation. The QR Coded Uni-Trace system also built-in full materials traceability. Read more here.
